BR 34: San Frascisco

      I think you all have heard of San Francisco because it is very famous city in California. However, we don't know well what kind of place San Francisco is. So, I want to introduce you many things about San Francisco.       San Francisco is located in the west coast of the United States. There is the Pacific Ocean on the west side. San Francisco Bay on the east side and the Golden Gate with its famous bridge on the north side. There are about seventy hills and they break the town into different parts, called neighbourhoods.      Now, I'm going to tell you about the history. People began to live in this country thousands of years ago.Native Americans in this part of the country were called the Ohlone. They lived by the coast and ate seafood or wild animals. But their lives suddenly changed in the late 1700s due to the travellers from Europe.      In Arabia, there was a boy called Aladdin who lived with his mother in a little house near the market. They were very poor, and he was so lazy that he didn't work and help with his mother. One day, when Aladdin was in the market , an old man came and asked him, "Is your name Aladdin? Aladdin, son of Mustafa?". Aladdin said 'Yes.'The man called Abanazar gave him much money and said that he was a brother of Aladdin's father. However, he was not a brother, but a magician. What will happen on Aladdin? BR 32: The house by the sea

 Carl, a businessman and her wife, Linda were married and lived together. In the beginning, they loved each other and spent a happy life. Three years ago, she decided to buy a holiday house by the sea because she wanted to spend time with him for weekends. However, Carl was a hard worker, so they didn't have enough time to be together. Linda liked to spend time with her friends, so she often stayed there with her friends. One day, she didn't come home. That continued about for a week. Then he realized he was wrong. He phoned her and they promised to meet in the house by the sea next day. However, she didn't come. He couldn't get through to her no matter how he often called. What happened on her?  This book is a little long story, so I recommend people who have enough time to read a long story. This is a series of detective and love story. BR 31: Just good friends

'We can still be friends, can't we?' (p.36) The main characters are Stephany and Max. They lived together at her flat in London and wanted to get know each other. During one summer vacation, they went to Italy and stayed at Stephany's friend Carlo's flat. Carlo welcomed them, but Carlo's wife Ruth didn't want her to visit. Stephany and Carlo said that they were just friends. However, these four people's  relationship began to change during their stay... I really enjoyed this book because I could see some complex relationships among characters. I had never read an affair story like this, and it was interesting for me. The main character is Nancy and George. She was working in the centre for asylum seekers, people who want to live in Great Britain because of bad problems in their countries. One day, she met a man, George. They began to attract with each other. However, she had a boyfriend and lived with him. She tried to forget about George, but she couldn't. Then she decided to leave Tom, Nancy and George became together. However, Tom angered with them and ... This is a love story. It's a long time for me to read love story, so I enjoyed it. 'You must do what you want.' (p.32) The main character is Arman. He was 17 years old and lived in a small town with his mother.  One day, when he was in school, the soldiers came to his school. A taller soldier said, 'Today's a very good day for you! You're coming with us. You're going to be soldiers.' He didn't want to be a soldier, so he escaped from them and went home. He told his mother about that and she gave him some money and told him to leave his country. Then his journey began. What will happen on him? I like this book because this story is happy end. Also, this story is short and written easy words. You can read this book easily. If you don't have enough time to read long story, please try it. Prowse, Philip. (2011). Arman's Journey. The main character of this book is Nat Marley, a New York private investigator. One day Curtis Wilson, a New York business man called him and said that he wanted to talk about a family problem. So, he began to search the problem with some help of his friends and assistant. The person who had problem was the owner of the pet store and he was husband of business man's sister. Why he was in trouble? Is the problem was bad thing or not? If you are interested in detective stories, you can enjoy this story. Please try it . Battersby, Alan. (2012). The dark side of the city. BR 27: A puzzle for Logan

The main characters are inspector Jenny Logan, a police officer in Edinburgh and Sergeant Grant, an officer helping inspector Logan. When she was in day off, he phoned and told her that Ronnie Campbell, a man in prison for murder had escaped there. They started looking for him. Soon after that, they got one news that one woman named Morag Mackenzie had killed by someone. Where did Campbell escape? Who killed Morag? They started to search these incidents. I had read the book, "Logan's choice" and this book has the same character in it. This book is level3, so it's a little longer than books we read now. However, words are not so difficult. BR 26: Dead cold

The main characters of this book is Flick, a detective in the Denver Police. One day, a dead girl was found in a swimming pool in Pine Crest. Leo Cohn, a chief of Denver Police asked her to go there and search a killer. She first said no because she lost her partner just two months ago, but finally she decided to solve the incident. A dead girl was Janine, a 23 years old student and she wanted to be a journalist in the future. She was searching a big secret and writing about it for a competition at her university, but she was killed. Who is the killer and why he or she killed her? Actually it was difficult for me to understand the last part, but I really enjoyed this book. If you are interested in this book, please read it. Sue, Leather. (2006). Dead cold. Cambridge; UK.

BR 25: Different world

"As wonderful as my small hand on the front of Mum's guitar. (p.45) The main character is Sam who is deaf. She is deaf, so she can't hear any sounds. However, she liked to put her hand on the front of Mum's guitar while she played it  because she could feel vibration. One day she fell in love a man, Jim. They began to be attracted to each other. They were happy. Then Lauren, a Jim's ex-girlfriend appeared and told her that Jim was a musician. She was shocked to hear that and felt she and he was in different world. What will happen with them after this? This is the love story. After reading, I was moved! They overcame a big problem. If you want to read moving story, please try it. Johnson, Margaret. (2003). The main characters are Jenny Logan and Grant. Logan is a police officer in Edinburgh, and Grant is an officer helping Inspector Logan. One day Grant found a dead body at the home of Alex Maclennan. His body was in the bathroom on the first floor and the window there was opened. Who entered the bathroom and killed him? Why he was killed?  Logan and Grant began to search a killer... BR 23: The double bass mystery

'He's dead!' (p.19) Penny Wade was a musician. She first visit Barcelona to hold concert with her orchestra. But they arrived there, her double bass had been disappeared. She thought she couldn't play in a concert, but her boyfriend, same part member, Simon hurt his hand, so she borrowed his double bass and played instead of him in the concert. She enjoyed it well. She didn't know what would happen next then... This is a mystery story, but I enjoyed main characters' relationships than finding who was a killer.  Let's try this book! Harmer, Jeremy. (1999). BR 22: The man from nowhere

He does not where he is or who he is. (p. 16)  There was a family and they went ahead to Bahrain with a small plane. However, during moving, the plane crashed some birds and it fell in desert. They didn't have enough food and water. Mother and a son remained in place and father only started walking for help. A father was walking slowly, up the dunes and down the other side. The sun was on his back, which was burnt red. What will happen on the man and his wife and son? Smith, Bernard. (2000). The man from nowhere. Cambridge, UK.
